O.K! Are you ready for Summer Break? I have been preparing since March and I have some wonderful ideas for all that are
interested.
1. At My Second Home Daycare we love theme days. With the weather getting warm we are ready to bring out the bubbles and
the kiddie pool. For an interesting twist on your bubbles add food coloring to them. My daycare kids love to see the different
colors reflecting in the sunshine.
2. Make popcicles as a craft in the morning and add food coloring when par frozen for swirls. You can also add gummies
for more chewy fun.
3. Save your spray bottles(cleaned out) for water fights. Always have balloons on hand for this one!
We are looking forward to our summer at the Daycare. Enjoy, there only kids once!

August 2006
Hi to all! My Second Home Daycare has seen an increase in children under 5 this summmer so sorry to all for not updating
sooner.
We would like to welcome our newest little friends Lyric and Bode.
So, school is starting very soon(YAY!). We have already started review in the preschool and for our older children. Here
are a few crafts for the last days of Summer;
1. Finger painting can be messy but fun, especially for children under 4. For babies we use pudding with corn syrup. After
the children are finished "painting" their masterpieces, let dry. Take a pencil or pen and let the children draw ontop or
cut out shapes. One of my Daycare children(the 9 year old) glued her painting onto cardboard then cut out pieces to make a
puzzle for the 3 year old.
2. August is a good time to restock on things that you will need for the preschool year. I take this time to make play-do
with the children. If you make it yourself, then even the 1 year olds can help you blend it togeather.
Well, I have to run. I will put in the play-do recipe later in the month. Enjoy the last of the nice days.
